UJI COBA INDIKATOR MUTU BIBIT MERANTI MERAH DI HPH PT SARI BUMI KUSUMA DAN PT IKANI KALIMANTAN
Abstract
A study on indicator seedling quality on survival rate and growth of red meranti species were conducted at
concession holder PT Sari Bumi Kusuma (PT SBK) Central Kalimantan and PT Itci Kayan Hutani (PT IKANI),
East Kalimatan. The purpose of this research to get information seedlings quality on survival rate and the growth
of red meranti, priority of silin program after planted one year in the field. Treatments consisted of three species
and three seedlings quality class from wildling in PT SBK and two species and three seedlings quality class from
wildling in PT IKANI. Factorial completely randomized block design with four replications was used for this study.
Before seedling planted in the field, the seedlings were selected based on seedling quality class based on height,
diameter, value strenght and top root raio in nursery. Each treatment consisted of 100 plants were planted with
20 m x 2.5 m spacing. The total number of plants observed as much as 3.600 plants and 2.400 plants
respectively. The results showed that species, seedling quality, interaction between species and seedlings quality
and block did not significant effect on the survival rate in both concession holders. But in both consession holder
that species and seedling quality gave significant different on height and diameter growth. The height and
diameter growth of S. leprosula was higher than orther species as much as 146.6 cm and 1.6 cm, respectively in
PT SBK and in PT IKANI as much as 87.48 cm and 1.56 cm respectively. While the height and diameter growth of
seedlings quality one was higher than the orther seedings quality as much as 142.6 cm and 1.6 cm respectivelyin
PT SBK and in PT IKANI as much as 86.5 cm and 0.8 cm repectively. Based on SNI 01-5005.1-1999 seedling
quality class one and two for meranti had given better growth and survival rate compared than seedling quality
class three. Therefore S. leprosula from wilding with seedling quality class one and two in SNI 01-5005.1-1999
are recommended for planting in Silin program with Selective Cutting and Planted Indonesia Intensif system.
